Refurbishing
- Refurbishment of Escher Wyss 5 MW steam turbine
Glass-beading of the rotor assembly to remove rusting and flaking that has been caused on the parent material of discs, shrouding bands & inter-stage labyrinth areas.
- Check the existing diameter of the inter-stage labyrinth gland areas and re-develop new stepped labyrinths on the damaged rows 1 to 6 by machining as close as possible to the existing ones.
- Removal of damaged HP end labyrinth sleeves after dis-assembly of over speed trip mechanisms, thrust collars, retaining rings etc.
- Manufacture of new HP end labyrinth sleeves from suitable material (to be determined after physical & chemical analysis of the original material) by re-engineering & making of all drawings from the damaged samples/turbine shaft etc. Labyrinth segments available will be used.
- Manufacture of new modified HP end metallic labyrinth segments (5 rows) out of X12CrMoS17 to suit the new dimensions of the shaft.
- Re-assembly of HP end sleeves and retaining rings, nuts, thrust collars and over speed trip mechanisms.
- Manufacture of new modified HP end carbon sealing segments (7 rows) to suit the new dimensions of the shaft.
- Dynamic balancing of turbine rotor as per ISO 1940, grade 1,0.
